Mise en scene.

We chose all of our props with extra care as we wanted everything to be in keeping with the theme of the Victorian-style. The main props used were:

- music box
- ballerina figurine
-ballet shoes
-Victorian-style china-doll
-picture frame (with picture of a woman- maybe the abuser- inside)
-black tutu
-old-fashioned looking nightgown
-knee-high socks

All of these were used as a part of the mise en scene for a particular reason, for example, the black tutu was used to make the girl look as similar as possible to Natalie Portman in the Black Swan, the knee-high socks and nightie were used to signify the protagonist's child-like mind; although she is clearly in her teens, she has the mentality of a child. All the ballet-related props are to symbolize her obsession with ballet.
